Note: The following accessory list is out of date and does not include many available Mercury accessories. However, the prices are now up to date.
6×9 Ground Glass Back
This is a full-coverage 6×9 ground glass for Graflok 23 backs (i.e., medium format Mercurys like the Rezza and Nina kits). It allows extremely precise focusing and framing, as well as the pleasure of viewing a luminous image before you expose your film. It includes small indicators for the 6×7 format as well. Recommended for pros and tripod shooters.
4×5 Limited Ground Glass Back
Kickstarter price: $45
This is a ground glass back for Graflok 45 (large format: the “Rich” kit). Just like the 6×9 groun glass, it allows for extremely precise focusing and framing. It is slightly smaller than the full image area, but includes a 5mm white border that indicates where the real edge of the image is; in practice this is easy to use for both focus and framing. We use existing glass to keep costs lower for you. It includes small indicators for 120 roll film backs.
Hasselblad V Back Adapter
This back adapter, when mounted in place of a Graflok back adapter, will mount any Hasselblad V back, including film, digital backs, and Russian Kiev 88 film backs. This kit includes mounting hardware and optional (removable) side cold shoe (works with digital backs, but must be removed for film backs).
Mercury 23 Back Adapter
Kickstarter price: $45
This is the standard medium format back (as included in the Rezza and Nina kits). This add-on is for large format shooters who want to add a medium format option to their Mercury.
Mercury 45 Back Adapter
RS-20 Version: $70
RS-30 Version: $80
RS-40 Version: $90
Mercury 6×9 120 Budget Back
We are developing this simple back for 120 film (medium format roll film). It shoots a full 6×9 frame. It will lack some of the more sophisticated features of vintage backs out there, such as a darkslide and frame counter. However, it will utilize a window for frame advance and frame numbering, just like the 120 cameras of old!
Mercury 135 Panoramic Back Conversion Kit for RB67 Film Back
We have developed a method of modifying a commercial back (Graflok 23 format) to accept 35mm film and exposes a 7cm long panoramic image on it. Unlike various hacking methods, this fully modifies the film gate for the 24×67 frame size, eliminating excess light bleed/ internal reflections. Even more importantly, it provides a stabilized path for the film, allowing the pressure plate to hold the edges (perforations) of the film flat. Unlike all existing adapters, then, the Mercury 135 Pano back produces a professional image on a flat film plane. Note that this is a conversion kit. RB67 Pro or Pro-S, 120 or 220 film back is required, but not included.
Every Mercury package comes with a single lens kit to allow you to adapt any view camera lens on the Mercury Compatible Lens list (see www.mercurycamera.com). This is an additional lens kit, for an additional lens. It includes a shutter adapter, lens tube (barrel), focus scale ring, focus scale sticker, and depth of field scale.
Lens adapter for Pentax 67, Mamiya 645, Hasselblad V, Pentacon 6, and Pentax 645 lenses
Mamiya 645 adapter kit for Ilex 4 shutter: $80
Pentax 645 adapter kit for Ilex 4 shutter: $80
Hasselblad V adapter kit for Ilex 4 shutter: $100
Pentacon 6 adapter kit for Ilex 4 shutter: $90
Pentax 67 adapter kit for Ilex 4 shutter: $100
This is a special adapter for medium format system lenses. A single kit includes an adapter for your specified lens format to an Ilex No. 4 shutter, an Ilex No. 4 retaining ring, and a Mercury lens board for that shutter. The shutter is not included, but is available used, usually under $100.
These cost significantly more than view camera lens kits because they incorporate parts from fairly expensive existing adapters. We have to purchase those and then assemble some of their parts into our own to produce these kits. But a single kit will work for any lens of that format, so you only need one.
Rear Spacer 20
This spacer can take the place of one Front Spacer. It moves any Graflok 23 back 20mm farther back. Uniquely, however, it can attach to and extend a Graflok 23 accessory (such as a roll film back), allowing it to extend that back 20mm at all times rather than remaining attached to the camera itself. This allows you to rapidly swap between, for example, a standard roll film back and an Instax Mini back, without changing any front spacers. The spacer allows the roll film holder to match the greater film plane distance of the Instax back.
Rear Spacer 30
Ultra wide angle helical lens board
Kickstarter price: $25
This allows you to mount special non-retrofocal, ultra wide medium and large format view lenses on the Mercury. This special lens board can accept multiple ultra wide angle lens kits, so lenses can be swapped easily. The board replaces the Mercury Focus Unit, and accomplishes critical focusing by rotating the lens barrel itself. For wide angle lenses, this is far more precise than a standard helical unit, at the slight cost of rotating the lens itself (sometimes a nuisance if you are using a circular polarizer, for instance). In general, this board is required for lenses wider than 65mm when using the Graflok 23 back and wider than 90mm when using the Graflok 45 back.
Instax Mini back for Graflok 23
Price: $250 (budget version), $300 (darkslide version)
Our most compact and convenient Instax back, this is a Mercury adapted Diana Instant Back, which takes Instax Mini film and, via the Mercury, allows you to pair it with high quality lenses for the first time! This back mounts mounts on a standard Graflok 23 back adapter (Mercury medium format, Mamiya RB67, Graflex Century Graphic, etc). This back sits 20mm farther back from the film plane, and thus requires the removal of 20mm of front spacers. The budget version does not include a darkslide system, so be aware that you will expose one frame from your pack when you remove the back mid-way through the pack, or change lenses. The darkslide version includes a metal darkslide system.
Instax Wide back for Graflok 23
No longer available
This is a very exciting item: a Mercury adapted Belair Instant Back, which takes Instax Wide film and, via the Mercury, allows you to pair it with high quality lenses for the first time! The price here reflects the cost of the Belair back, the significant work required to heavily modify it, and our own special mount for it. The result is an Instax Wide back that mounts on a standard Graflok 23 back adapter (as found on our medium format kits: Rezza and Nina). This back sits 30mm farther back from the film plane, and thus requires the removal of 30mm of front spacers. It does not include a darkslide system, so be aware that you will expose one frame from your pack when you remove the back mid-way through the pack, or change lenses. This isn’t a big deal with inexpensive Instax film, but is something to be aware of.
Instax Wide back for Graflok 45 – Budget Version

Instax Wide back for Graflok 45 – Deluxe Darkslide Version
